Waterseal Waterproofing – Shower Waterproofing in Perth

3 October 2017

A leaking shower does not reveal its cause from the visible stain alone. Water may travel through a failed junction, around a waste or fitting, through an adjoining wall, or from plumbing. The timing of the leak matters: note whether it follows shower use, cleaning, or periods when the room has not been used. Photographs and a short symptom history make an assessment more useful.

Before committing to a surface seal or full rebuild, the relevant components need to be checked in context. That includes the drain, wall and floor junctions, penetrations, substrate and any concealed damage. Waterseal’s leak detection and diagnostics service can help define the problem; the shower waterproofing guide explains the installation sequence for a new or renewed wet area.

Start with the water pathway

A leaking shower can affect adjoining rooms, the floor below or concealed construction. Record when symptoms appear and whether they occur during shower use, after cleaning or at other times. Plumbing, fittings, drainage and waterproofing may all need consideration when the cause is uncertain.

Repair options depend on the assessment. Surface symptoms alone do not establish that the membrane is sound or that a complete replacement is necessary. Reviewing the substrate, junctions, wastes and surrounding finishes supports a defined repair scope and a clear sequence for reinstatement.
