When WA’s only metropolitan liquid waste receival facility faced the risk of environmental contamination, the facility manager turned to WATERSEAL for a robust and durable solution.

Located in Henderson, the site had been experiencing persistent leakage from its receivals pit—threatening to pollute adjacent wetlands. The challenge required more than a quick fix. It called for a comprehensive and collaborative approach that prioritised both performance and longevity.

WATERSEAL was engaged to undertake key remedial works, including:

• Sealing of critical movement joints using a chemically inert polyurethane mastic, resistant to chemical exposure.
• Installation of a flexible FPO membrane to treat internal horizontal and vertical transitions.
• Use of crystalline repair grout to remedy identified static cracks.
• Finishing with a crystalline slurry coating to lock down the structure and reduce future permeability.

Every product used was selected for its compatibility with chemically aggressive environments.
